ses-t[=e]'na, n. an old French form of verse, originally consisting of six stanzas of six unrhymed lines, with a final triplet, the same terminal words being used in each stanza, but arranged differently. Modern sestinas are written on two or three rhymes.--Also SES'TINE. [It.,--L. sextus, sixth.]
