It consists of an external fibrous, an internal mucous, and an intervening muscular coat, is about fifteen or sixteen inches in length, of the size of a goose quill, and descends beneath the peritoneum to the point of reflection of the posterior false ligament of the bladder, between the folds of which it passes to the side of the bladder along which it runs, and pierces it obliquely about an inch and a half to two inches posterior to the opening of the urethra.
