the final constitution of Kansas, adopted October 4, 1859, by a convention appointed by the Territorial Legislature of Kansas, and under the provisions of which Kansas was admitted to the Union. The Constitution prohibited slavery; the Governor was to be elected for two years; suffrage was limited to whites, and Topeka was made the capital.
