The U. S. Geological Survey was established by Congress in March, 1879, as a bureau of the Department of the Interior. The interior surveys, topographical and geological, heretofore carried on by other Government agencies, were confided to it.

- An enzyme that catalyzes the of groups from acetyl-CoA to arylamines. They have wide specificity for aromatic amines, particularly serotonin, and can also catalyze acetyl transfer between arylamines without CoA. EC 2.3.1.5.
