[Latin] A layer. T. chorioideae (T. nigrum), the pigment-epithelium layer of the retina. When, as in some animals, it is non-pigmented it is called T. lucidum. T. cellulosum, a stratum composed of several layers of cells containing crystals, occurring in the chorioid of the horse, cow, and sheep, give a shining reflex which makes the eyes visible in the dark. T. corporis callosi, a band of fibres passing from the corpus callosum to the temporal lobe.
