A crystalline substance, C18H13-NO4= C6H4 (OH) CO. O-C6H4NH.CO.CH2, or acetyl-paramidosalol. In doses of 5-7 gr. (gm. 0.3-0.5) every three hours it is used in rheumatism, neuralgia, sciatica, influenza, as an intestinal antiseptic, and in skin diseases.
