Same etymon. The middle part of the hypogastric region; so called, because it in covered with hair, in both sexes, at the period of puberty. The hair is also called Pubes, Lanu'go seu Pili, Pudendo'rum, Planta'rium; and, of old, Epicten'ion and pubertas signified the same. See Tressoria.
