Are the posterior apertures of the nasal cavities, which establish a communication between those cavities and the pharynx. They are bounded, above, by the body of the sphenoid bone; below, by the palate bone, and the base of the velum pendulum; and, on the outside, by the internal ala of the pterygoid process. They are separated from each other by a septum, of which the vomer is the bony part.
