In a steam-engine, the valve which regulates the passage of waste steam from the cylinder: a valve in the eduction passage of the steam cylinder of an engine, placed between the cylinder and air-pump, and wrought by the tappet-motion, so as to open shortly after the equilibrium valve, and admit the steam to the condenser.
