(1736-1797), was a member of the Virginia Legislature from 1761 to 1771. He was one of the Virginia Committee of Safety, a delegate to the Continental Congress from 1775 to 1776, and signed the Declaration of Independence. He was a member of the Executive Council of Virginia from 1786 to 1791, and from 1793 to 1797.
