The inner fibrous bark of the lime tree, of which the Russian matting used in gardens is made. Bast is also obtained from the leafstalks of two Brazilian palms, Attalea funifera and Leopoldinia Piassaba; and Cuba bast from the inner bark of Paritium elatum.
