1, An Accad: 2, the language of the Accads, a non-Semitic and probably Turanian speech spoken in ancient Babylonia previously to the later and better known Semitic dialect of the cuneiform inscriptions. A kindred dialect, the Sumarian, seems to have been in use at the same time in Babylonia.
